ATIK SUDAN İZOLE EDİLEN FENOL DEGRADE EDİCİ BAKTERİLERİN ENZİMATİK VE ANTİBİYOTİK DUYARLILIK AKTİVİTELERİ

Year 2017, Volume: 6 Issue: 2, 64 - 74, 31.08.2017
https://doi.org/10.18036/aubtdc.289555

Abstract

ENZYMATIC AND ANTIBIOTIC SUSCEPTIBILITY ACTIVITIES OF PHENOL DEGRADING BACTERIA ISOLATED FROM WASTE WATER

Year 2017, Volume: 6 Issue: 2, 64 - 74, 31.08.2017
https://doi.org/10.18036/aubtdc.289555

Abstract

In the scope of the study, samples were
taken from various units of two different wastewater treatment plants and pH
and element contents of these samples were determined.
Samples were inoculated on phenolic media and totally 19
isolates were obtained.
Of these 19 isolates,
9 of them thought to be morphologically different were identified.
Pseudomonas species have been identified
dominantly among the isolates.
An antibiotic susceptibility test was performed to evaluate the treatment
potential of these 9 isolates in the wastewater.
In addition, amylase and protease enzyme production
activities of isolates were evaluated.
It has been determined that isolates are susceptible to ofloxacin,
azithromycin and streptomycin.
When enzyme production capabilities were evaluated, only 2 isolates showed
poor protease activity, while most isolates showed amylase activity.
