The globalizing world has changed the accounting and accountancy profession in parallel with competition and rapidly developing technology. Since business is spoken through accounting, accounting can also be called the language of the business. At this point, it is up to the accountants who are members of the profession to express accounting, which is the language of the business. Accounting professionals have undertaken the mission of being a strategically important communication tool for the financial management of businesses. Accountants who are at such a critical point, on the other hand, can perform their profession in the best way, depending on their strong verbal communication skills. Thus, they can perform their profession flawlessly by obtaining more information and more evidence. High verbal communication skills depend on two factors: genetics and environment. The education given in educational institutions plays a major role in shaping the verbal communication skill with the effect of the environment. This study aims to investigate the effect of accounting education on students' verbal communication anxiety. In the study, the students were divided into two groups as students who are at the beginning of the accounting education program and are about to graduate from the program, as well as those studying in the business departments of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences where accounting education is intensive, and those who study in other departments where accounting education is relatively less. A questionnaire prepared by McCroskey to measure communication anxiety was applied to a total of 168 students. According to the results of the t-test applied to measure whether there is a significant difference between the groups in the study, it has been found that there are no significant difference between the groups. According to the results of the study, it can be said that accounting education has no effect on the development of communication skills by reducing students' verbal communication anxiety.
