Abstract

Aromatic radicals can be prepared by either oxidation or reduction of aromatic compounds. Such transform ations m ay be carried out by a variety of methods: photolysis, radiolysis, Chemical oxidation or re­ duction, pyrolysis, electrolysis, electrical discharge, ete. The first three methods are the most commonly used.
