Bilinen Terapötik Etkinliğinin Dışında Farklı Hastalıklara Yönelik Glutensiz Diyet Uygulamaları

Abstract

Amaç: Glutensiz diyet çölyak hastalığı, çölyak dışı gluten duyarlılığı ve buğday alerjisi hastalıklarının tedavisi veya semptomlarının giderilmesi için tedavi amacıyla uygulanan bir diyet türüdür. Glutensiz diyetin belirtilen bu hastalıkların dışında farklı hastalıklara karşı herhangi bir terapötik etki gösterdiğine yönelik bir fikir birliği bulunmamasına rağmen, diyabet, irratabl bağırsak sendromu, obezite, nörolojik hastalıklar ve kardiyovasküler hastalıklara karşı da uygulanabilmektedir. Bu çalışmada da doktor tarafından çölyak, gluten duyarlılığı ve buğday alerjisi tanısı konmamış yetişkin bireylerin glutensiz diyete karşı tutumlarının incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Materyal-Metod: Veriler sosyal medya kanalları üzerinden online anket yöntemiyle toplanmıştır. Toplam 594 anket arasından 221’i doktor tarafından çölyak, gluten duyarlılığı ve buğday alerjisi olan bireyler tarafından doldurulduğu için değerlendirilmemiştir. Bulgular: Katılımcıların büyük bölümünü kadınlar oluşturmuş (%95,7) ve glutensiz diyeti; iyi his yaratma (%55,2), sağlıklı olduğu düşüncesi (%39,7), ağırlık kaybı (%18) gibi nedenlerle uyguladıklarını belirtmişlerdir. Ayrıca katılımcılar glutensiz diyetin bağışıklık sisteminin güçlenmesinde (%47), egzersiz performansının artmasında (%35,9), yaşam kalitesinin yükselmesinde (%61,4) etkili olacağına kesinlikle katıldıklarını belirtmişler ve glutensiz diyet uygulaması ile GİS problemlerinde azalma (%66) yaşadıklarını belirtmişlerdir. Katılımcılar glutensiz diyetin sağlıklı bir diyet olduğunu düşünseler de bir kısmı glutensiz diyet uygulamaları ile başta B grubu vitaminlerinde (%34,9) olmak üzere A vitamini (%9,4), E vitamini (%8,3), D vitamini (% 5,4), demir (%7,8) ve çinko (%5,6) gibi mikro besin ögelerinde eksiklik yaşayabileceklerini belirtmişlerdir. Sonuç: Sağlıklı bireylerde glutensiz diyetin olumlu etkisine yönelik fikir birliği bulunmaması ve bu bireylerde glutensiz diyet uygulamaları ile görülebilecek muhtemel besin ögesi eksiklikleri (D vitamini, folat, demir, magnezyum, kalsiyum, çinko) göz önüne alınarak toplumun bu tarz popüler diyetlerin etkinliği konusunda bilinçlendirilmesi önemlidir.
