The microanatomy of the cavernous sinus, Its lateral wail stractures and variations

Abstract

Most important part of the cavernous sinus consists of the lateral sinus wall, the cranial nerves III, IV, V, Vi and the posterior siphonknee of the internal carotid artery. Lesions of the cavernous sinus, vascular as well as tumorous, can be exposed by approaching the lateral sinus wall. The surgical dissection through the sinus wall is based on some important anatomical details, which are described here. In this study, the relation between the cranial nerves III, IV, V, VI and anterior and posterior clinoid process were detected. The relation between the cranial nerves III, IV, V and VI were also elicited and discussed.

Kavernöz sinüsün mikroanatomisi, lateral duvar yapıları ve varyasyonları

Abstract

Kavernöz sinüsün en önemli kısmı lateral sinüs duvarı, kranial sinirler III, IV, V, Vi ve internal karotid arterin posterior sifonknesinden oluşur. Kavernöz sinüsün lezyonları, vasküler ve tümörlü olsun, lateral sinüs duvarına yaklaşılarak açığa çıkarılabilir. Sinüs duvarından cerrahi diseksiyon, burada açıklanan bazı önemli anatomik detaylara dayanmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, kranial sinirler III, IV, V, VI ile anterior ve posterior klinoid çıkıntı arasındaki ilişki tespit edildi. kranial sinirler III, IV, V ve VI arasındaki ilişki de ortaya çıkarıldı ve tartışıldı.
