Extrameduliary hemopoeisis in prenatal and postnatal life

Abstract

In this research, extramedullary hemopoesis (EMH) was investigated retrospectively and experimantely. Tissues were examined over again in autopsy cases who died intrauterine life and babyhood period. Extramedullary hematopoetic focuses determined in 45 cases that of 162. Furthermore, in experimental part of the study, mice were used. In mice, EMH was examined in perirenal fat tissue at a period of which was from 14th day of prenatal life until 7th day of postnatal life. 45 autopsy cases in which EMH were determined; extramedullary hematopoietic focuses were seen the most in liver and spleen. But in only 2 cases, dead cause was the hematologic diseases. On the other hand, in experimental part of the study EMH was determined in only case in perirenal fat tissue in mice. As a result, EMH is common phenomenon and it may be a sing of an undefined hematologic disease. For this reason, cases in which EMH were determined, hematologic examine should be done in patients and their family.

Prenatal Ve Postnatal Donemde Ekstramedullar Hemopoez

Abstract

Bu araştırmada, ekstramedüller hemopoezis (EMH) retrospektif ve deneysel olarak araştırılmıştır. İntrauterin yaşam ve bebeklik döneminde ölen otopsi vakalarında dokular tekrar incelenmiştir. 162 vakanın 45'inde ekstramedüller hematopoetik odaklar belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca, çalışmanın deneysel kısmında fareler kullanılmıştır. Farelerde, EMH, prenatal yaşamın 14. gününden postnatal yaşamın 7. gününe kadar olan bir dönemde perirenal yağ dokusunda incelenmiştir. EMH'nin belirlendiği 45 otopsi vakasında; ekstramedüller hematopoetik odaklar en çok karaciğer ve dalakta görülmüştür. Ancak sadece 2 vakada ölüm nedeni hematolojik hastalıklardır. Öte yandan, çalışmanın deneysel kısmında EMH, farelerde perirenal yağ dokusunda sadece vakada belirlenmiştir. Sonuç olarak, EMH yaygın bir fenomendir ve tanımlanmamış bir hematolojik hastalığın belirtisi olabilir. Bu nedenle EMH saptanan olgularda hasta ve ailesinde hematolojik inceleme yapılmalıdır.
