Abstract

To investigate brain ischemia, it is considered to be very difficult to develop a model in which controled regional brain ischemia can be achieved. Choosing the model, way of anesthesia, surgical method, to occlude just one artery, human like parencyhmal lesions are the main points that must be taken into consideration. In this experiment the right middle cerebral arteries of the rabbits have been occluded through transorbital approach. In a tota! number of 24 rabbits (weights, ranging between 2.5-3.0 kg) under general anesthesia, in different periods cerebral ischemia has been developed. The macroscopic and microscopic examination of the coroner sections of the pieces revealed that after an ischemic period of 4 hours and 2 recirculation period of 2 hours, a lesion that can be examined histologically can be
achieved. It is suggested that such a model can be used in the investigation of the effects of various drugs to the neuronal changes in the ischemic region.

Abstract

Model secimi, anestezi kullanimi, kullanilan yontem, tek arter tikanmasi, gelisen parenkimal lezyonlarin insandakine benzer olmasi dikkate alinmasi gereken ézelliklerdendir, Bu deneyde transorbital yolla tavsanlarin sag orta serebral arterleri tikanmistir. Toplam 24 tavsanda (agirliklar 2.5-3.0 kg) genel anestezi altinda, cesitli zaman dilimleri icinde serebral iskemi olusturulmustur.
