Abstract

Mellothionein, can bind both essantial and nonessantial metals and thus play an important role as a metal storage protein and also the detoxification of toxic metals. Its major role is in regulation of trace metal metabolism, especially zinc, acting in the storage of these man. ions in the liver. Defects in the MT gene expression have been suggested to be the cause for several disorders of trace metal metabolism in man.

Abstract

Metallothionein, organizmada esansiel ve nonesansiyel metalleri baghyarak metal depolayici ve toksik metalleri detoksifiye edici protein bi islevi yapar. Dokularda kismen farkh ézellikler géstermekle beraber karacigerde cinko ile yapum artan, ginkoyu depolayan ve gerektizinde cinko iceren enzimlere cinko saglayan metal proteinidir. Ayrica cesitli metaller, hormonlar ve wediatorlerle de sentezi artabilmektedir. Bugiin icin Wilson hastahginda, gevre kirletici cadmium gimetallerin toksisitesinden korunmada yasamin ilk yilindaki bes- lenme ve btiyiimede 6nemi oldugu bildirilmektedir.
