Abstract

The alterations in the adreneline cells of the guinea pigs adrenal medullae which were exposed to cold stress were observed in light and electron microscopy. In the second experiment the most conspicuous difference was on the secretory granules. There was a partial deple- tion of the secretory granules in the second experiment (to cold ex- posure for 15 hours/day) and total depletion on the third experiment (to cold exposure for 210 hour in days). After cold stress, the quinea pigs were exposed to the room temperature and 48 hours later there was a marked increase in the number of the secretory granules and it was observed that the secretion was achieved by exocytosis. The alterations on the other cytoplasmic organelles such as lysosomes, lipids and multivesicular bodies were also discussed. It was also de- termined that the lead acetate staining which is used in the light microscopy techniques had notably ensured to differ the chromaffin cells from the cortex cells.

Soguk Stresi Uygulanan Sürrenal Medullası Adrenalin Hücrelerinde Işık Ve Elektron Mikroskobu Düzeyinde Gözlenen Değişikliklerin İncelenmesi

Year 1988, Volume: 41 Issue: 2, 265 - 288, 30.06.1988
