Hyperprolactinemia in Polycystic Ovarian Disease

Abstract

Hyperprolactinemia is seen approximately in 1/3 of the patients who have Polyeystic Ovarian Disease (PCOD). The etiology of high serum prolactin levels is not so clear. The serum prolactin levels were measured in 9 patients who had PCOD with hyperprolactinemia andin 5 patients who had oligomenorrhea but no high levels of serum prolactin as a control group, after the administration of Clomiphene Citrate. The serum prolactin levels were found normal. The decrease of serum prolactin levels after the administration of Clomiphene Citrate was thought that, high serum estradiol levels have a significant role in the etiology of hyperprolactinemia in the patients who have PCOD.

Polikistik Over Hastalığında Hiperprolaktinemi

Abstract

Polikistik Over Hastalığı olan hastaların yaklaşık 1/3 ünde hiperprolaktinemi görülmektedir. Bu prolaktin yükselişinin etyolojisi tam aydınlanmamıştır. Polikistik Over Hastalığı ile birlikte hiperprolaktinemili 9 hasta ve hiperprolaktinemisi olmayan oligomenoreli 5 kontrol vakasında Clomiphene Citrate uygulamasından sonra serum prolaktin ölçümleri yapıldı ve bir düşme gözlendi. Clomiphene Citrate sonrası serum prolaktin değerlerindeki bu düşme Polikistik Over Hastalığında hiperprolaktinemi nedeninin yükselmiş olan östradiol değerleri olabileceğini düşündürür.
