CAVERNOMAS
Abstract
Corebral vascular malformations have traditionally been divided
into (Gür categories : arterioyenous, venous, cavernous and capillay telengiectases, A cavernous malformation (cavernous angioma) is one
of four commonly occurring types of cerebral vazcular malformations.
It is defined as an abnormaliy enlarged collection of vascular channels without brain parenchyma, intervening. These malformations are rare,
The familial incidence of these maltormations has been previous described. Magnetic resonance imaging is the radiographic diagnostic tecbnigus of choice in the detection and follow of these lesions.
İn ihis article, 3 cases of histopathologically verifed cerebral cavernous angiomas have been reporusd. Their presenting signs, symptoms
together wiih ihe radiological and histopathological features of the disorder have been discussed.
