Abstract

Plasma carcinoembryonic antigen levels were measured in 50 patients and they were treated surgicaliy nodular goiter. Eight of the 50 patients had differentiated thyroid carcinoma and these patients presented normal carcinoembryonic antigen levels. This study demostrates no diagnostic significance of carcinoembryonic antigen determination differentiated thyroid carcinoma.

Abstract

Diferensiye tiroid kanserlerinde carcinoembryonic antijen düzeylerini araştırmak amacıyla 59 nodüler guatr olgusunda serum carcinoembryonic antijen seviyeleri tespit edilmiştir. 509 olgunun 8 inde diferensiye tiroid kanseri saptanmıştır. Bu olgularda carcinoembryonic antijen düzeyleri normal olarak bulunmuştur.Bu sonuçlara göre carcinoembryonic antijen tayininin tiroid kanserlerinin tanısında değeri olmadığı söylenebilir.
