Surgical Treatment of Differentiated Thyroid Cancers

Abstract

141 differentiated thyroid carcinoma cases trea surgicaliy ted between 1974-1984 have been evaluated. The follow-up was carried out either by hospital controls or by correspondance. Satisfactory data were obtained in only 32.The results indicate that performing total or partial thyroidectomy do not influence the survival and recurrence rates in both groups. It was also noted that the rate of postoperative complicationş were higher in the group where total thyroidectomy was performed.In planning the treatment of well differentiatted thyroid carcinomas our clinical criteriae depends upon the socioeconomıc status, the ageofthe patients, the clinical stage of the tumour and the presehce of Iymphatic spread.

Diferansiye Tiroid Kanserlerinde Cerrahi Tedavi

Abstract

1974 ve 1984 yılları arasında cerrahi olarak tedavi edilen 141 diferansiye tiroid kanseri olgusu değerlendirildi. Olguların bir kısmı direk temasla, bazıları adreslerine mektup yazılarak kontrol edildi. 141 olgudan ancak 32'sinde yeterli bilgi elde edilebilmiştir. Total tiroidektomi ve parsiyel rezeksiyon yapılan olgularda yasam süresi ve nüks açısından fark bulunmamıştır. Total tiroidektomi yapılan olgularda parsiyel rezeksiyon yapılan olgulara göre, postoperatif komplikasyonların ortaya çıkma oranı yüksek bulundu. Diferansiye tiroid kanserlerinde, tümörün klinik durumu, lenf bezi metastazlarının varlığı, hastanın yaşı ve sosyokültürel durumu değerlendirilerek, tedavi planının yapılması gerektiği kanısındayız.
