Morgagni Hernias in the Elderly

Abstract

The hernia of the foramen of Morgagni is a very rare type of diaghragmatic hernias. In this study two cases of Morgagni's hernia were presented. In both cases there were peritoneal sacs filled by fat tissue. The defects were repaired by right toracotomies and these cases were compared with the other reviews.

Abstract

Morgagni hernisinde konjenital bir olay söz konusudur. Çoğunda direkt herni kesesi mevcuttur. Karın organları bu keseye girebilir. Superior epigastrik arterin geçiş yerinde defektin oluştuğu öne sürülür. Çoğu kez tek taraflıdır. Erişkinde daha çok sağda, yeni doğanda soldadır. Cogunlukla cerrahi girişim gerektirmez. Tanı kesin ise abdominal, değilse torakal girişim önerilir. Çok nadir görülen bir herni tipidir. Tedavisi cerrahidir.
