Kaynama Yokluğunun Sürekli Akım İle Tedavisi
Abstract
1. Direct current was applied to 13 patients with non-union by the way of
power sources standardized in the Department of Medical Physiscs of Ankara
University. The patients were treated in the Clinics of Orthopaedic Surgery and
Traumatology of Medical Faculty of Ankara University and Ankara Hospital of
Social Security.
2. One patient was not included, complications wern't important and Wer&
treated casily.
3. The percentage ol success Was 75(t 8.3).
4. This method gave good results also in non-unlon after osteomyelitis.
5. The results were better the cases in which cathodes (18-20 mA) applied
more than one (4 cases in our Series).
6. The method is semi-invasise, it protects the patient İrom a serious SUrgical
intervention and its complications which are difficult cases and usualiy
permits ambulation.
7. And at the result the potential of direct current in re-union of the nonunion
Was tried to explain by somes hypothesises. It is our opinion that these
hypothesises need to be studied in detail.
