The Role of Fructose in Male Infertility

Abstract

Fructose evaluations jn semen were made on the 128 cases chosen by random arnong the outpatients who have come to the SterilityInfertility section in the Urology Clinics Ot Ankara University between the years 1979-1981. The relationship between the fructose levels and the patients' age, the spermatozoon motility and count, the sexual abstinence time, the prostatic infections, the blood glucose and hormone levels are investigated. The results are compared with the literature and it is shown that seminal fructose has an important role in male infertility.
