Early Surgical Treatment of Congenital Pes Equino Varus Deformity

Abstract

Pes eguinovarus is one of the commoner congenital deformities of the foot. The ideal treatment of this deformity is conservative. If the deformity is resistant
or the patient is older than 18 months in the first examination surgical treatmentm should be done without delay. Early surgical treatment as posteromedial te'ease had been done between October 1978 and March 1981 in 102 feet of 68 patients. Ihe patients were 3 months to 9 years old. The follow-up time ranged between 3 months and 24 months with an average of 7.4 months. The over all resulis were encouraging.

Doğuştan Pes Ekino Varus Deformitesinin Erken Cerrahi Tedavisi

Abstract

Pes ekinovarus ayağın doğuştan deformitelerinin en sık görülenlerinden biridir. Bu deformitenin ideal tedavisi konservatiftir. Deformite dirençli ise ya da hasta
ilk muayene edildiğinde 18 aylıktan büyükse gecikmeden cerrahi tedavi uygulanmalıdır. Ekim 1978 ve Mart 1981 tarihleri arasında 68 hastanın 102 ayağına posteromedia! gevşetme olarak erken cerrahi tedavi uygulandı. Hastaların yaşı 3 ay ile 9 yaş arasında idi. İzleme süresi 3 ay ve 24 ay arasında olmak üzere ortalama 7.4
aydır. Alınan sonuçlar ümit vericidir.
