Abstract

It is generally accepted that in the case of brainstem death, metabolism may not have stopped in all cells in the brain. In this case, each person may think that some cells or groups of cells in the brain are still functioning, so that some kind of consciousness at a minimum level continues. However, such thoughts are academic approaches, because, on the other hand, the ability to obtain organs for transplantation requires that the diagnosis of brain death be reached as early as possible.The speakers also mentioned economic difficulties; these necessities also impose on the physician the duty not to wait for all cells in the brain to become incapacitated in order to reach the diagnosis that death has occurred.As is clear, everyone who participated in the roundtable agreed that brain death is the true criterion for determining death.

Abstract

Beyin sapı ölümü durumunda beyindeki bütün hücrelerde metabolizmanın durmuş olmayabileceği genel olarak kabul edilmektedir.
