Lomber Disk Hernilerinde Myelografi
Abstract
Myelography in the Patients with Herniated Lumbar Disc In this paper the side-effects of the myelography have been discussed. The most important compiication which will be occurred in the following myelography is chronic arachnoiditis. The author advises that in the patients with lumbar her- -niated disc the myelography should not be done routinely. In the cases when clinical and other lobaratory methods can not give sufficient data for the diagnosis of the exact level of the discal herniation site the myelography can be performed. After the myelographic examination the contrast medium should be removed completely. The auther has performed operation in 33 cases of herniated lumbar disc patients. In this 300 cases myelography has been done in 151 cases. In the patilents who had myeiography before the operation low back pain in 26 cases, local chronic arachnoiditis in 4 cases, micro pulmonary embolus in 2 cases and meningitis in 1 case had developed. Beside this, in 149 cases who had not any myelography low back pain in 3 cases had developed after the operation but no arach- .noiditis, meningitis or pulmonary embolus had occurred.
