Abstract
181 female inguinal hernia cases were examined.
It was determined that in the general distribution of hernias in women, umbilical hernias were in the first place, inguinal hernias in the second place and femoral hernias in the fifth place.
Indirect inguinal in 133 of the cases, direct inguinal in 23 and trouser hernia in 2 were observed.
In 50% of the cases, localization was on the right side, in 38% on the left side and in 12% on both sides.
The youngest of the cases was 15 and the oldest was 75 years old, with an average age of 35 years.
Sliding hernia was seen in 6 cases (4.5%).
15 cases underwent surgery due to strangulation (8.5%).
In 2 of these cases, laparotomy was also performed due to «reduction en masse».
As hernia repair, Bassini (and modifications) was applied in 48.5%, fascia transversalis repair in 19.5%, Mc Vay in 8%, and Zimmerman in 5.5%. Information about the surgical method performed in 19.5% could not be determined.
Recurrence reasons were excluded.
1 case died (0.5%).

Abstract
181 kadın inguinal fıtık vakası incelenmiştir.
Kadınlarda fıtıkların genel dağılımı içinde 1. sırayı göbek fıtıkları, 2. sırayı inguinal fıtıklar ve 5. sırayı femoral fıtıklarm aldığı saptanmıştır.
Vak'aların 133'ünde indirekt inguinal, 23'ünde direkt inguinal ve 2'sinde pantolon fıtığı görülmüştür.
Vak'aların %50'sinde sağ tarafta lokalizasyon, % 38'inde sol tarafta lokalizasyon ve % 12'sinde de iki tarafta lokalizasyon saptanmıştır.
Vak'aların en genci 15, en yaşlısı 75 yaşında olup yaş ortalaması 35 yaşdır.
Kayma fıtığı 6 vak'ada görülmüştür ( % 4.5) .
Boğulma nedeni ile 15 vak'a ameliyat edilmiştir ( % 8.5) .
Bunlardan 2 vak'ada «reduction en masse» nedeni sonucu ayrica laparatomi yapılmıştır.
Fıtık tamiri olarak % 48.5 oranmda Bassini (ve modifikasyonlarl), % 19.5 oramnda fascia transversalis onarımı, % 8 oramnda Mc Vay, % 5.5 oramnda Zimmerman ameliyat yöntemi uygulanmıştır. % 19.5 oranmda yapllan ameliyat metodu hakkinda bilgi saptanamamıştır.
