Pregnancy and Uric Acid in Blood (A Biochemical Research)

Abstract

Urecemia determined in 32 cases. In 10 normall control group avarage value was found % 3.36 mg. In 18 entirely normal pregnant woden out 35 pregnant cases, we found uric acid levels changing between % 2.1 - % 7.2 mg. We did not find uricemia values above normal level in the 17 pregnant women who were accepted to the hospital for reasons other than toxemias. Avarage values were, in 6 pregnant women at first trimestr % 3, in 13 pregnant women at second trimestr % 3.7, in 16 pregnant women at third trimetr % 4.6 mg. Increase in uric acid levels goes parellel by the pregnancy and continues during labor. We found the average value % 4.6 mg. in 13 cases when labor began. After the delivery we noticed a decrease and we found the average value % 3.7 mg. We did not find any value above normal in all our cases except one which was 8 month twin pregnant.
In 15 cases whose diagnosis were preeclampsia and eclampsia the values found were for above the normal. In 11 preeclampsia cases average blood uric acid level was % 7.4 mg. And in 5 eclampsia coma cases we found the average value % 11.5 mg. The most increased value ( % 16.3 mg.) we determined belongs to the patient who died on the second day of the eclampsia coma,
'We believe that determining uric acid levels in blood has a great value in the diagnosis of toxemias.
However it continues to be high for some time after the medical therapy and patients recovery.

Gebelik Ve Kanda Ürik Asit (Bioşimlik bir araştırma)

Abstract

82 vak'ada kanda ürisemi tayini yapıldı. 10 kontrol grubun
da ortalama % 3.36 mg. bulunmustur. 35 adet gebeden tamamen normal olan 18 tanesinde % 2.1 ile % 7.2 mg. arasında degisen asit ürik seviyesi elde edilmistir. Toksemi dlS1 çesitli sikayetlerle yatan diger 17 gebenin hiçbirinde normalin üstünde ürisemi tesbit edilmemistir. 1nci trimestrideki 6 gebede ortalama % 3, 2 nci trimestrideki 13 vak'ada % 3.7, 3 ncü trimestrideki 16 gebede ise % 4.6 mg. bulunmustur. Gebelik ilerledikçe normal slrnrlarda kalmakla beraber dikkati çeken bu yükselis, travayda da devam etmis, üzerinde çalıştığımız 13 vak'ada % 4.6 o.larak bulunmustur. Puerperium döneminde ise bu yükselis gerilemis ve ortalama % 3.7 mg. inmistir. Bütün bu vak'alanrmzda 8 ayllk bir ikiz gebelik vak'asl hariç normalin üstünde bir deger elde edilmemistir.
Preeklampsi ve eklampsi teshisi almış 15 vak'ada ise normalin çok üstünde degerler elde edilmistir. 11 adet preeklamptik hastada kan ürik asit seviyesi ortalama % 7.4 mg. , 5 adet eklampsi krizi geçirmis hastada ise % 11.5 mg. tesbit edilmistir. E,n• yüksek deger eklampsinin 2 nci günü vefat eden 1 hastada % 16.3 mg. olarak tesbit edilmistir. Kanaatn•mzca kanda ürik asit seviyesinin tayini toksemili hastalann teshisinde klymetli bir testtir. Yalmz klinik sifa teessüs ettikten sonra da bir süre kan ürik asit seviyesi yüksek olarak seyretmektedir.
