Abstract

In this article, the importance of understanding the needs and problems of fatally il children and of their families have been discussed, and certain guidelines“have been presented to physicians treating children with fatal ilness. It is not onlyihe behavioral reactions of the child and his family but also the psychology of thephsician which need to be considered tully. A major problem area which has beendicussed in the article is what and how the information on illness wili be conveyedto the child and his family. Another important area is concerned with sharing the.
responsibility of the care of the child with the family, whether in the hospital or athome. N oFinally problems related to the significance of death and dying have beendiscussed with special reference to the phisicians role under condition where he ishelpless in a strictly medical sens, but who much to contribute as ün understanding,listening, supporting human being.

Ölümcül Hastalığı Olan Çocukları Tedavi Eden Doktorların Sorunları Ve Sorumlulukları

Abstract

Bu yazıda ölümcül hastalığı olan çocukların, ailelerinin gereksinimleri ve S0- runları üzerinde durulmakta ve bu çocukları tedavi ile uğraşan hekimlere bazı öne- riler sunulmaktadır.
Yalnız hasta ve ailelerinin ruhsal tepkileri değil, hekimin ruhsal durumunun da önemle göz önünde tutulması gerekmektedir.
Önemli bir sorun aileye ve Çocuğa hastalık hakkında nasıl ve ne kadar bilgi verileceği ile ilgilidir. Diğer bir sorun çocuğu gerek evde gerek hastahenede tejavi ederken ailenin işbirliğini sağlamaktır.
Ölüm anında ve sonrasında hekimin rolü üzerinde durulmakta, tıbbi olarak hiç bir şey yapılamıyacak durumlarda bile hekimin anlayış, dinleme: ve destek ol- ma biçimindeki katkısının & önemi vargulanmaktadır.
