Spinal Kord'un Stereotaksis Cerrahisi

Abstract

This article presents 20 percutaneous cordotomy procedures performed on 16 patients suffering from intractable pain. The technique described is the Modified Rosomoff Percutaneous Radiofrequency Cervical Cordotomy. The method, reasons for failure, and comparisons with literature are discussed. A 75% success rate was achieved. During the procedure, continuous sensory testing was used to attain the desired level of analgesia. The potential benefits of using electrical stimulation and impedance measurements to improve outcomes were highlighted. This technique was implemented for the first time in Turkey in this clinic, and its role in the literature is emphasized.
