Teratoma of the Bladder (A Case Report)

Abstract

1950–1970 yılları arasında Ankara Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Üroloji Kliniğinde 199 mesane tümörü vakası cerrahi olarak tedavi edilmiştir. Bu tümörlerin yalnızca biri non-epitelyal kökenli mesane teratomu olup, oldukça nadir görülmektedir. Sunulan vaka 27 yaşındaki kadın hastaya aittir. Hastada 3 yıldır sık ve ağrılı idrar yapma, 1.5 yıl önce de iki kez hematuri şikayeti olmuştur. Yapılan sistoskopi ve görüntülemeler sonucu mesane tavanında pediküllü, kıllı yapıdaki kitle çıkarılmıştır. Histopatolojik incelemede parakeratozlu epidermis, sinir dokusu, kemikleşme ve kistik alanlar saptanmış; malignite izlenmemiştir. Literatürde bu olgudan önce yalnızca 6 mesane teratomu bildirildiğinden, bu sunum dünyadaki 7. vaka olarak kabul edilmiştir. Cerrahi sonrası hasta sağlıklı bir şekilde yaşamını sürdürmektedir.

Abstract

Between 1950 and 1970, 199 bladder tumors were surgically treated at the Urology Department of Ankara University School of Medicine. Among these, only one was a non-epithelial tumor identified as a bladder teratoma, which is extremely rare. The case involved a 27-year-old female patient presenting with a 3-year history of dysuria and previous hematuria. Cystoscopy revealed a pedunculated, hairy mass at the bladder dome. The mass was transvesically removed. Histopathological analysis demonstrated parakeratotic epidermis, nerve tissue, ossification, and cystic structures without malignancy. This case represents the seventh documented instance of bladder teratoma in the literature. The patient remains asymptomatic and in good health since the operation in 1965.
