Esansiyel Bening Fruktozüri

Abstract

A case of essential benign fructosuria is reported. Rutine urine analysis showed positive Fehling and Benedict reaction. For this season the patient was adrnitted to the hospital for further studies. Repeated fasting blood sugar and glucose tolerans curve was found sölithin normal limits. The reductant substance in the acide urine showed levorotation in polarimetric studies and gave positive Seliwanoff reaction and negative glucose oxidase reaction. When the patient was given fructose contain foods, positive sugar reaction was obtained in the urine, but after the patient is placed on diet which contains no fructose, the reductant substance disappeared from the urine. Because of the patient had no symptoms, essential benign fructouria was diagnosed.
