Valsalva sinus anevrizması yırtımları

Year 1970, Volume: 23 Issue: 2, 512 - 523, 30.06.1970

Abstract

Valsalva sinus aneurysm ruptures

Year 1970, Volume: 23 Issue: 2, 512 - 523, 30.06.1970

Abstract

Because of its anatomical location within the heart chambers and its proximity to the heart, which can significantly impact cardiac function, the diagnostic and treatment processes for aneurysms of the sinus of Valsalva have evolved rather late. The possibility of a congenital deficiency in its etiology, as with all congenital cases, rightfully lends the disease a degree of mystery. While the majority of cases present in middle-aged patients, the occurrence of aneurysms in our case at age 66 and the long-term radiation therapy treatment our patient received for bronchogenic carcinoma legitimately raise the question of whether radiation therapy can be effective in the development of the disease. In our patient, the aneurysm may have developed due to radiation exposure, despite the absence of a congenital deficiency. Our patient, who is ranked first among the elderly patients who can be treated in the literature, also has the first aneurysm to appear after radiotherapy, so in our opinion, the case has gained importance and has been examined from this perspective.
