Abstract
Bu çalışmada doğum eylemi sırasında analjezik olarak Methoxyflurane’in kullanımı ve güvenliği incelenmiştir. Çalışma 16 hastayı kapsamaktadır; doğumların bir kısmı normal, bir kısmı müdaheleli (forceps, vakum, epizyotomi, basiotripsi) gerçekleşmiştir. Hastaların doğum sırasında kendilerinin kullanabildiği portatif inhalatörler (Duke veya Cyprane) aracılığıyla aralıklı veya sürekli olarak Methoxyflurane verilmiştir. Methoxyflurane ağrıyı etkin şekilde azaltmış, uterus kontraksiyonlarında ve travay süresinde belirgin değişiklik yapmamıştır. Sürekli kullanımda kısa süreli şuur bulanıklığı gözlenmiş, dolaşım veya solunum depresyonu oluşmamıştır. Neonatal Apgar skoru yüksektir, asfiksi izlenmemiştir. Analjezi genellikle iyi tolere edilmiştir. Sonuç olarak doğumda Methoxyflurane’in güvenle kullanılabileceği belirtilmiş, gerektiğinde bölgesel anestezi ile kombine edilebileceği önerilmiştir.

Abstract
This study examines the effects and safety profile of methoxyflurane when used for obstetric analgesia in 16 laboring patients. The cases included both normal and instrument-assisted deliveries (forceps, vacuum, episiotomy, basiotripsy). A portable self-administered inhaler (Duke or Cyprane type) was used for intermittent and continuous dosing. Methoxyflurane provided effective analgesia without prolonging labor or causing significant changes in uterine contractions. In most cases, no notable circulatory or respiratory depression was observed. Mild and short-lived clouding of consciousness occurred only in continuous use. Neonatal Apgar scores were high, and there were no instances of fetal asphyxia. The analgesic was well tolerated, and the study concludes methoxyflurane can be safely used in labor, especially when regional anesthesia is added as needed.
