Serum In Infants Showıng Malnutrıtıon Effect Of Creatıne Kınase Actıvıty And Muscle Examınatıon Of Hıstopathologıcal Changes

Abstract

Proteinden fakir bir diyetle beslenen ve ağırlığının 7 50'den fazlasını kaybeden 4* ağır malnutrisyonlu 15 süt çocuğunda ve aynı yaşlardaki 10 normal süt çocuğunda, serum kreatin kinase aktivitesi tayin edilmiştir. Malnutrisyon gösteren vak'alarda serum kreatin kinase aktivitesi normallere nazaran düşük bulunmuştur (P < 0.01). Fakat bu düşük değerler vak'anın nutrisyonel durumu ile yakın bir ilişki göstermemektedir. Zira 4 derece malnutrisyon gösteren vak'aların bir kısmında çok düşük kreatin kinase aktivitesi tesbit edilmesine karşılık (vak'a 7, 10, 14), diğerlerinde aktivitede hafif azalma görülmüştür. Serum kreatin kinase aktivitesi ile adelede husule gelen histopatholojik değişiklikler arasında bir ilişkinin olup olmadığını tetkik için adele biopsisi yapılmıştır. Başlıca patolojik bulgu, adele atrofisidir. Atrofi ve derecesi, hücrelerin çapını visopan ile ölçerek mm. cinsinden gösterilmiştir (Tablo: 1). Malnutrisyonlu çocukların bir kısmında ağır atrofi olmasına karşılık, kreatin kinase aktivitesindeki azalma hafiftir (wak'a 4). Bazı 4”malnutrisyon vak'alarında ise atrofi az, fakat kreatin kinase aktivitesi çok düşüktür. İstatistiki hesaplamalarda da, kreatin kinase aktivitesi ile adele atrofisi arasında korrelasyonun olmadığı görülmüştür (r — 0.0767). Sonuç olarak; 4' malnutrisyonlu süt çocuklarında serum kreatin kinase aktivitesi, çocuğun nutrisyonel durumu ve adeiedeki histopatolojik değişiklikler hakkında tam bir bilgi vermemektedir.

Malnutrisyon Gösteren Süt Çocuklarında Serum Kreatin Kinase Aktivitesinin Ve Adeledeki Histopatolojik Değişikliklerin İncelenmesi

Abstract

Serum Creatine Kinase and Histopathologic Investigation of Muscle in Malnutrition Serum creatine kinase activities were determined in 10 healty infants and 15 malnourished infants. All malnourished infants were fed by low protein diet and had lost more than 50 percent of their weighis, Before treatment all malnourished infants had low serum creatin kinase activities. But some of ihem had slighi decreased in activities (case 1, 4, 6, 13). The others had very low levels (case 7, 10, 14). There were no correlation between the level of creatine kinase activities and the nutritional status of the infanis. Muscle biopsies were done from the same infants to see if ihere were a correlation between histopathologic changes and serum creatine kinase activities. The main pathologic findings were muscle atrophy which expressed itself by decreased cell volume. This was showed by measurement, Muscle cells diameter were measured by visopan and the results were expressed in mm. Some of the infants had severe atrophy with apparent decreased cell volume but slight decreased serum creatine kinase activities (Case -4-). The others had slight muscle atrophy but very low serum creatine kinase activities. As a result we can find no correlation between serum creatine kinase activities and the nutritional status of the infants and the histopathologic changes of the muscle.
