Lysozyme (muramidase) activity in serum and urine of patients with acute myelomonocytic leukemia

Abstract

In this study, Iysozyme (Muramidase) activity was investigated in the serum and urine of 20 patients aged 2 to 16 years. Two patients with AMML, two with erythroleukemia that had converted to AMML, and one with chronic granulocytic leukemia during an acute blastic crisis. Enzyme analysis was performed in the serum using a turbidimetric method, and screening tests were performed in the urine. Iysozyme levels were found to be positive in the urine of only three patients, representing 15%. In the AMML group, 75% of the patients had high Iysozyme activity in their serum. High Iysozyme levels were detected in 13 of the 20 cases included in the study. Consequently, 65% of the 20 cases had high Iysozyme activity.

Akut Myelomonositik Lösemli Hastaların Serum Ve İdrarlarında Lysozyme (muramidase) Aktivitesi

Abstract

Bu çalışmada 2 - 16 yaş grubu arasındaki 17 AMML, 2 eritrolösemiden AMML'ye dönmüş ve lösemili 1 kronik granülositik tanın akut blastik krizi sırasında, toplam 20 vak'ada serum ve idrarda Iysozyme (Muramidase) aktivitesi araştırıldı. Serumda enzim çalışması türbidimetrik yöntemle idrarda ise screening teste yapıldı. Hastaların yalnız 3'ünün idrarında yani % 15 oranında, Iysozyme müsbet bulundu. AMML grubun serumunda, yapılan çalışmada hastaların %75 inde yüksek Iysozyme aktivitesi vardı. Çalışmaya alınan toplam 20 vak'anın 13'ünde yüksek Iysozyme düzeyi saptandı. Sonuç olarak 20 vak'anın %65'inde yüksek Iysozyme aktivitesi vardı.
