Pheokromositoma: Özellik Gösteren Nadir Bir Olgunun Sunumu
Abstract
This paper describes a rare and distinctive case of pheochromocytoma, a catecholamine-secreting tumor arising from adrenal medulla chromaffin cells. A 40-year-old woman presented with a six-year history of uncontrolled hypertension and acute episodes of nausea, headache, sweating, and shock. Despite negative biochemical markers, advanced radiologic imaging revealed a large mass attached to the upper pole of the left kidney. Surgical removal yielded a 580-gram tumor, and histological examination confirmed pheochromocytoma. While these tumors typically remain small, this case’s exceptional size underscores diagnostic challenges and reinforces the significance of surgical resolution for clinical recovery.
