New Discoveries in Blood Diseases: Pernicious Anemia and Vitamin B12

Abstract

1 — Folic acid normalizes the hematological picture in pernicious anemia, but has no effect on neurological changes. 2 — Vitamin B12 normalizes the abnormal hematological and neurological changes in pernicious anemia. It is estimated that intramuscular injections of vitamin B12 in doses as small as 1 microgram per day will be sufficient. The substance causing allergic reactions in liver extracts is not identical to vitamin B12. Finally, let's say that the discovery of vitamin B12 does not answer all the questions about pernicious anemia. If neurological and hematological changes are related to the same factor, why don't neurological disorders also occur in patients with pernicious anemia? For example, why are neurological disorders rare in Türkiye? I wonder if there will be any drawbacks to B12 in the future? The future will reveal these. We have learned sufficiently from past experience that in medicine, the best course of action is never to rush and to wait for subsequent publications with dignity.

Kan Hastalıkları Alanında Yeni Keşifler Pernisiyöz Anemi ve B12 Vitamini

Abstract

1 — Folic acid pernisiyöz anemideki hemâtolojik. tabloyu normale çevirirse de nörolojik değişikliklere hiçbir tesir yoktur. 2 — B 12 vtamini Pernisiyöz anemideki kem anormal hematolojik hem de nörolojik tagayyürleri normale'cevirir. Adale içine günde 1 mikrogram kdar ufak dozdaki B 12 vitamini zerklerinin kâfi geleceği tahmin: olunmaktadır. Karaciğer ekstrelerinde- ki allerijik reaksiyonlara sebev'olan madde ile vitamin B 12 avni değildir. Son söz olarak şunu söyliyelim ki B 12 vitaminin keşfi ile pernisiyöz anemi hakkındaki soruların hepsi cevaplandırılmış olmuyor. Nörolojik ve hematolojik değişiklikler ayni faktöre bağıl iseler neden pernisiyöz anemili hastada nörolojik bozukluk da husule gelmiyor. Meselâ ne- .den Türkiye'de nörolojik bozukluk ender husule geliyor?. Acaba ilerde bu B 12 nin de bir mahzuru çıkâcak mıdır? Bunları istikbal gösterecektir Tıbda hiçbir zaman acele etmiyerek ağırbaşlılıkla müteakip neşriyatı beklemenin en doğru yol olacağını geçmişteki tecrübelerden kâfi derecede öğrenmiş bulunuyoruz.
