Abstract
Femoral ovarian hernia is a rare and challenging condition to diagnose. Ovarian ectopia typically occurs due to anomalies in embryological development, and in most cases, the fallopian tube is also ectopic. In diagnosis, palpation and auscultation can reveal prominent masses in the inguinal canal or labium. Whether the mass is reducible or irreducible is a critical finding. Femoral ovarian hernia poses a greater risk due to the potential for strangulation and torsion. Differential diagnosis should include inguinal hernia, labium majus cyst, and Nuck canal dermoid cyst, among others. Additionally, ovarian hernias are prone to complications such as torsion, strangulation, and cystic degeneration. The sensitivity of the ovary may increase, especially during menstruation.
