A New Radionucleid With Affinity To Malignant Processes (Galium Citrate)

Abstract

Investigations being carried out in the last two years with C "Gallium-citrate have revealed affirmative results in the detection of the malignant tumors in any part of the body.
Intravenously administered G7Gallium-citrate is trapped at higher rate in the alive parts of the malignant processes and in the developing stages of the young tumor grafts; the very (act which leads to the use of scintigraphic methods in the detection of these malignant growths.
Also the factors such as radiotherapy and chemotherapy which inhibit the development Of the tumor and lead to the destruction of the malignant tissues also effects the degree of i17Gallium trapping within the tissue thus can be a criterion ,as to the success of the treatment.
A single injection of 'G Gallium is enough to detect a malignant processs within the organism regardless of its tyne and this in itself shows the superiority of this radionucleid over the presently availab le radiopharmaceuticals. C7Gallium is used in the detection of malignant processes ênd their metastases and the degree of effectivcness of the applied chemotherapy and radiotherapy and due to its very short half-life it is easily applied as a diagnostic scintigraphic procedure without inflicting any physical Þazard to the patient.
In this preliminary investigation, rectilinear scintillation scanning with 07 Gallium-citrate were performed in three cases with carcinoma of the lungs and Hodgkin's diseases and were evaluated in relation with the diagnosis of these malignant diseases.

Maling Proçeslere Afinitesi Olan Yeni Bir Radyo Nükleid (Galium Citrate)

Abstract

Organizmanın herhangi bir bölgesinde yer alan malign proçeslerin ortaya çıkarılmasında yeni bir radyonüklid olan ve iki yıldan beri çeşitli taraştırıcüar tarafından incelenen 67Gallium-sitrat ile olumlu neticeler alınmaktadır.
Damar yolu ile verilen 67Gallium-sitratın malign proçeslerin canlı bölgelerinde ve gelişmekte olan genç tümör greftlerinde organizmanın diğer bölgelerine nazaran çok daha büksek nisbetlerde toplanmasından istifade edilerek sintigrafik metodla bu malign hadişeler tesbit edilebilmektedir.
Ayrıca tümör gelişmesini inhibe eden ve malign hücreleri harabiyete uğratan kemoterapi, radyoterapi gibi faktörler 67Gallium'un tümöral dokuda toplanma nisbetini azaltüğnğan tedavinin muvaffakiyet derecesi de yine bu radyonüklidi kullanmak sureti ile ortaya çıkarılabilmektedir.
Tek bir 67Gallium-sitrat enjeksiyonu ile organizmamn herhangi bir bölgesinde yer alan mplign proçesi, tiimörün cinsine bažll olma yarak tesbit edebilmek radyonüklidin dižer radyofarmasötiklere Olati üstünlüžünü göstermektedir.
"Gallium malign proges ve metastazlarm tesbitinde, malign proceslere tatbik edilen kernoterapi ve radyoteraninin müessiriyet derecesinin kullanllan ve yarl ömrünün lasa olmasl ile hastaya bir fiziksel zarar tevlit etmeyen, tatbiki kolay sintigrafik bir teshis vasltasldlr.
Bu ön callsmarmzda akcižer karsinomu ve Hodgkin hastallžma ait 3 vakada 0ãGallium-sitrat ile yapllan re.ktilinier sintigrafinin, bu malign hastallklarda tam yönünden değeri tartışılmaktadır.
