Abstract

Bu yazı, komplike kırıkların tedavisinde balanse iskelet traksiyonu ve erken hareket yönteminin etkinliğini, örnek vak'alarla ortaya koymaktadır. Komminut veya kompavnd uzun kemik kırıkları ile çoklu travmalı hastalarda, açık veya kapalı redüksiyon genellikle uygun değildir. Son yıllarda cerrahi yöntemler ön plana çıksa da, iskelet traksiyonu basitliği ve fonksiyonları koruyucu yapısıyla dikkat çekmektedir. Açık yaraların kontrolü, ağrının hızla geçmesi, dolaşımın rahatlaması ve deformitelerin düzeltilmesi gibi pek çok avantaj sunar. Yedi vak'a raporu, Steinmann çivileriyle yapılan traksiyon sonrası alınan olumlu sonuçları ve rehabilitasyon süreçlerini göstermektedir. Komplikasyonlar sınırlı olup, hafif doku reaksiyonları ve tolere edilebilir uzunluk farkları dışında ciddi bir sorun yaşanmamıştır. Yazar, yüksek riskli cerrahi alternatiflere karşı iskelet traksiyonunun yeniden değerlendirilmesini önermektedir.

Abstract

This paper presents clinical outcomes from the use of balanced skeletal traction combined with early mobilization in complex fracture cases. Compound or comminuted long bone fractures and injuries accompanied by multiple traumas often pose challenges where neither open nor closed reduction is ideal. Skeletal traction, though simple and often overlooked in favor of modern surgical fixation, proves effective in preserving function and minimizing complications. Advantages include better control of open wounds, rapid pain relief, improved circulation, and reliable reduction of angulation and rotation deformities. Seven case studies demonstrate successful recovery in patients with severe limb trauma using Steinmann pin traction methods, followed by rehabilitation. Complications were minimal, mostly involving transient skin or soft tissue issues, and limb length discrepancies remained within acceptable limits. The author advocates revisiting skeletal traction as a viable method especially when surgery poses higher risks.
