Abstract

Numerous pathologic conditions involving the atria and the atrial appendage have been described. Since to day very few cases of unusual malforkations of the atria or their pppendages have been studied. Atrial hypertrophy is well known : however we could find no reference to atherosclerotic aneurismal dilatation on the left atrial appendage. we have discribe the case of 11 year old male patient with huge sclerotic left atrial appendage herniated through a pericardial defect. Following the surgical excision preoperativ supra ventricular tachycardy and atrial fibrilation dissapered. We belive this to be the first reported case of a atherosclerotic left atrial appenğage aneurism on 11 year old patient.

Abstract

Atrium ve auriküla anevrizmaları çok nadir rastlanan bir hastalık olup literatürde bugüne kadar 13 vakaya rastlanmıştır. Vakamız yalnız 14. vaka olarak değil fakat diğer vaküalarda görülmeyen kalsifikasyonla birlikte olması sebebiyle önem taşımaktadır. Hastalığın teşhisi çok defa tesadüfler yardımıyla olmaktadır. Henüz oluşumu hakkında kati bir kanaat bulunmayan bu hastalığın en büyük özelliği atrium fibrilasyonu ve supraventriküler tıaşikardi ile beraber bulunmasıdıır en büyük özelliği atrium fibrilasyonu ve supraventriküler taşikardi ile beraber bulunmasıdır. Hastalığın tedavisi cerrahi olup anevrizmal kese çıkartıldıktan sonra atrium cidarı tercihan Dümer olarak kapatılmalıdır. Ameliyattan sonra supraventriküler taşikardi ve atrium fibri!asyonu geçmektedir.
