Determination of the Amount of Insulin in the Blood by Radioimmunological Methods

Abstract

For 70 samples insulin is tested by Radioimmunoassay and blood glucose by Folin-Wu Method. Among these samples 20 were normal and 50 were suffering from diabetes mellitus. It is determined expe rimentally that the level of insulin in normal people changes between 3 - 20 microunits Der ml. However no distinct ratio between blood glucose and insulin could be determined for the patients with diabetes mellitus although it is observed that when glucose is high insulin level is low.
Insulin is determined three times for each sample and similar results were obtained each time indicating the high sensitivity of the method followed.

Radyoimmunolojik Metodlarla Kanda İnsülin Miktarının Tayini

Abstract

Radioimmünolojik metodla 70 vakada insülin ve Folin-Wu metodu ile açlık kan şekeri tayin edilmiştir. Bu vakalardan 20 si normal 50 si ise diyabetli hastalara aittir. Normal şahıslarda insülin miktarı 3 - 20 Mic. Ünit/ml. arasında değiştiği deneylerimiz sonunda saptanmıştır. Diyabetli hastalarda ise açlık kan şekeri ile insülin miktarları arasında belirli bir oran teşDit edilememiş bununla birlikte kan şekeri seviyeleri yüksek olan şahıslarda insülin miktarının düşük olduğu tespit edilmiştir.
Her numunede insülin tayini 3 defa yanılmış ve neticelerin birbirlerine çok yakın olduğu dolayısiyle kullandığımız İnsülin tayin metodunun hassasiyetinin yüksek olduğu hesaplanmıştır.
