Vulva - Vagina Hematomas
Abstract
This article discusses a rare case of traumatic vulvar hematoma observed at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Ankara University. The patient, a young unmarried woman, sustained injury during a bathroom accident, resulting in a rapidly enlarging hematoma that fully obstructed the vulvar introitus. Given the progressive pain and increasing size of the hematoma, surgical intervention was performed to evacuate the hematoma and achieve hemostasis. The article explores the anatomical predisposition, traumatic and obstetric causes, clinical manifestations, differential diagnoses, complications, and therapeutic approaches to vulvar and vaginal hematomas. Prompt diagnosis and intervention are emphasized as key to favorable outcomes.
