Leiomyoma and Leiomyosarcoma of the Stomach and Duodenum

Abstract

Three Cases of leiomyoma and leiomyosarcoma of the stomach and duodenum have been presented. Prognosis of leiomyoma and leiomyosarcoma fairly good when they are compared with carcinoma of the stomach. In the cases which present hematemesis and melena with no demonstrable disease such as ulcer, cancer or portal hypertension which could explain bleeding, one must think the tumor originating from smooth muscle of the gastro-intestinal tract. It is also important that radiologic examination should be made in a Trendelenburg position when any suspicion arise about gastric leiomyoma or leiomyosarcoma.

Mide ve Duodenum Leiomyoma ve Leiomyosarcoma'ları

Abstract

Bu yazıda mide ve duodenumun 3 leiomyoma ve leiomyosarcoma vak'ası takdim edilmiştir. Mide kanseri ile mukayese edilirse bu vak'alarda prognoz oldu ça iyidir. Kanamayı izah edecek peptik ülser, kanser veya portal hipertansiyon gibi bir hastalığın tesbit edilemediği hematemez ve melena vak'alarında gastroentestinal kanalın düz adelelerinden menşe alan tümörler akla gelmelidir. Mide leiomyoma veya leiomyosarcoması'ndan şüphelenilen vak'alarda röntgen muayenesinin Trandelenburg vaziyetinde yapılmasının önemi belirtilmiştir.
