Chronic Pain Treatment with Transcutaneous Electrical Stimulation

Year 1982, Volume: 35 Issue: 1, 1 - 12, 31.03.1982

Abstract

A.Ü. Tıp Fak. Anesteziyoloji ve Reanimasyon Birimi ağrı tedavi ünitesinde şiddetli kronik ağrı yakınması olan 50 hastaya TES uygulandı. Tedavi sonunda

Year 1982, Volume: 35 Issue: 1, 1 - 12, 31.03.1982

Abstract

TES was applied to 50 patients with severe chronic pain in the pain management unit of the Anesthesiology and Reanimation Unit of the Faculty of Medicine at Ankara University. At the end of the treatment, the pain completely disappeared in 78% of the patients. Pain intensity decreased in 14% of the patients. Treatment was unsuccessful in 8% of the patients. TES is a well-known pain management method. However, in recent years, it has received increasing attention. The results were compared with studies on this topic in the literature and discussed.
