Early Diagnosis of Oral Cancer

Abstract

The Problem Of Mouth Cancer (an Analysis of 435 cases) When mouth cancer develops the problem that stand between the patient and a cure may be divided into two phases. The first phase begins with the inception of the growth, and extends up to time when a diagnosis of cancer is established and the patient is referred to the doctor who will give the treatment. In the mouth cancer; in the first phase the practitioner and the dentist plays a leading role for discovery and diagnosis. In some varieties of mouth cancer, it is more likely that the dentist will be consulted first. Cancer of the mouth is not difficult to diagnose as compared with cancer in many other locations. Fortunately the entire oral cavity is accessible to clinical inspection and digital palpation so that any part of the mouth may be examined without special equipment; Therefore the diagnosis of any suspected lesion can be made by direct objective findings rather than by indirect or complicated methods. In the other hand; the mouth cancer, there are needless to say, many inflammatory lesions and benign tumors of the mouth as well as a variety of oral manifestations of systemic diseases which may at times offer some difficulty in differential diagnosis. Since we are concerned in this article with the problem of mouth cancer, the inclusion of any detailed discussion of the clinical appearance and diagnosis of benign tumors and other disorders of oral cavity. We added to this article some statistical tables about 435 cases of our mouth-face and primary neck cancers.

Ağız Kanserlerinde Erken Teşhis

Abstract

Ağız kanserlerinde erken teşhisin önemi fazla olduğundan Gülhane tıp akademisinde 1957-1962 arasında beş senede gelen 435 vakanın bir bir analizi yapılmış ve bunların münakaşasında bilhassa pratisyen hekimle diş tabibine ağız kanserleri ve bunlarla karşılaşabilecek hastalıklar hakkında bilgi verilmiş ve ayrılmalarının sağlanması için icabeden yollar gösterilmiştir. Memleketimizde de diğer medeni memleketler gibi bugün kanser insidansı fazlalaşmıştır. Bu bakımdan geç doktorların bu hususta yeterli bilgiye sahip olmaları lazımdır.
