Meno-Metrorrhagia After Intrauterine Contraceptive Device Application

Abstract

Intrauterine contraceptive devices (IUD) were applied in 40 cases, in which the devices were removed due to menometrorrhagia. Both clinical examinations and endometrial biopsy samples were analyzed using special and histochemical methods. Our findings were compared with 60 control cases with menometrorrhagia, and after reviewing recent literature, a comprehensive physiopathological discussion of the subject was provided.

Abstract

Intrauterin kontraseptif cihaz (IUD) uygulanan ve menometroraji nedeniyle cihaz çıkarılan 40 vakada, klinik incelemeler ile birlikte endometrial biyopsi materyalleri özel ve histokimyasal yöntemlerle incelenmiştir. Bulgularımız, menometrorajili 60 kontrol vakasıyla karşılaştırılmış; ayrıca konuyla ilgili güncel literatür gözden geçirilerek, fizyopatolojik açıdan kapsamlı bir tartışma yapılmıştır.
