A patient presented to the AU Faculty of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine II, due to Optalidon (acid, allylisobutyl barbituric acid, aminophenazone, trimethylxanthin) poisoning. After medical treatment proved ineffective, he underwent a 6-hour artificial kidney (hemodialysis) treatment. During this procedure, his blood barbiturate level was reduced from 8 mg% to 2.54 mg%. Following treatment, the patient regained consciousness and was discharged with a full recovery.
A.Ü. Tıp Fakültesi II. İç Hastalıkları Kliniği’ne Optalidon (acid, allylisobutyl barbituric, aminophenazon, trimethylxanthin) zehirlenmesi nedeniyle başvuran hastaya uygulanan tıbbi tedaviden sonuç alınamayınca, 6 saat süreyle suni böbrek (hemodiyaliz) tedavisi uygulanmıştır. Bu işlem sırasında kan barbiturat seviyesi %8 mg'dan %2,54 mg'a düşürülmüştür. Hasta, tedavinin ardından bilincine kavuşmuş ve tamamen iyileşerek taburcu edilmiştir.
