A Case of Alpha2 Myeloma

Abstract

A very rare type of Multiple Myeloma is one in which paraproteins are localized in the alpha fraction. The case we present is of a young male patient. In his examinations, paraproteins were detected using paper electrophoresis and immunoelectrophoresis, and it was shown that they were localized in the alpha fraction. Bone marrow diagnosis confirms this condition. The type of the case and its clinical course have been compared with very few other cases in the literature.

Abstract

Multiple Myelomun çok nadir görülen bir tipi, paraproteinlerin alfa fraksiyonunda yerleşmiş olan şeklidir. Bu özelliği gösteren vakamız, genç bir erkek hastadır. Tetkiklerinde kağıt elektroferezi ve immün elektroforezle paraproteinler tespit edilmiş ve bunların alfa fraksiyonunda yerleştiği gösterilmiştir. Kemik iliği teşhisi de bu durumu teyit etmektedir. Vaka tipi ve klinik seyri bakımından literatürde mevcut çok az sayıdaki diğer vakalarla mukayese edilmiştir.
