Trakeal İntübasyon Sonrası Görülen Boğaz Ağrısı ve Üst Solunum Yolları Enfeksiyonları

Abstract

Sore throat and uffer respiratory tract infections following endotracheal intubation Sore throat and upper respiratory tract infections following intubation with non sterile endotracheal tubes were studied in 45 patients. Cutures were taken from the patients' throat and from the tubes which were used in these patients for intubation. The cocurence of the sore throat and upper respiratory infection was calculated to be 24,4 %. This incidence rate of the infection was similar to those seen when sterile tubes used for intubation.
