Abstract

Sore throat and uffer respiratory tract infections following endotracheal intubation
Sore throat and upper respiratory tract infections following intubation with non sterile endotracheal tubes were studied in 45 patients.
Cutures were taken from the patients' throat and from the tubes which were used in these patients for intubation.
The cocurence of the sore throat and upper respiratory infection was calculated to be 24,4 %.
This incidence rate of the infection was similar to those seen when sterile tubes used for intubation.

Abstract

Sterilize edilmeyen trakeal tüplerle yapılan intubasyonu müteakip görülen boğaz ağrıları ve üst solunum yolları infeksiyonları 45 hastada incelendi. Bu hastaların ameliyattan evvel ve sonra boğazlarından ve bu hastalarda kullanılan tüplerden kültür alındı.
Hastalarda husule gelen boğaz ağrısı ve üst solunum yolu infeksiyonu nisbetinin % 24,4 olduğu tesbit edilmiştir.
Bu sıklık steril tüplerle yapılan intubasyonu müteakip görülen boğaz ağrısı ve üst solunum yolu infolrsiyonu nisbetiyle aya nıdır.
