Mukoepidermoid Kanserler

Abstract

16 cases of the mucoepidermoid carcinoma have been diagnosed among 74337 biopsy and surgical specimens sent to Department of Pathology between 1947—1970. Clinical and morphologic fin• dings of our cases have been compared with those reported in the literature, and results discussed.
12 out of 16 cases were in the parotid gland, 2 cases in the palate, 1 case in the submandibular gland and 1 case in the tonsilla. The largest tumor was in parotid and measured 9 cm. in diameter. The tumors located in the parotid glands had higher grade malignancy than others, located in the minor salivary glands.

Abstract

1947—1970 ilk 6 ayl arasmda A.Ü. TIP Fakültesi Patoloji Enstitüsüne yollanan 743337 biyopsi ya da ameliyat materyali içinde tesbit ettižimiz 16 mukoepidermoid kanser Olayl gözden geçirildi, klinik ve morfolojik bulgular literatürdekilerle kar»la$lrllarak sonuçlar tartl§lldl.
Olaylarln 12 sinin Parotis, 2 sinin damak, birinin submandibular bez, birininde tonsillada yerlesmi; oldužu tesbit edildi. En büyük tümör parotiste ve 9 cm. çapmdaydl. Parotiste yerlesenlerin ve high grade olan 10 tümörün, küçük tükrük bezlerinde yerlesen ve low grade olan 6 tümörden daha büyük çapta olduklarl dikkatimizi çekti. Ayrlca düsük maliÉniteli bir tümörün bölgesel lenf bezi metastam yaptlžl tesbit edildi.
Öze11ikle malinitesi yüksek mukoepidermoid kanserleri yassl Öze11ikle malignitesi yüksek mukoepidermoid kanserleri yassl epitel kanserlerinden aylrmak için PAS ve Mayer müsikarmin boyalarl gerekti.
