Radiocardiopulmonarygraphyl and the determination of the cardiac output

Abstract

Radiocardiopulmonarygraphy is a very valuable and modern radioisotopic method for the evaluation of dynamic cardiac functi• ons. İt is based on external detection and recording of the enteran-
ce and exit of the radioacticity to and from the heart ofter the intravenous injection of a radioactive tracer. labelled Human Serum Albumin (RISA) is being used as radiopharmaceutical substance in this method and thus, simultaneous total blood volume determination is being made possible. Utilizing radiocardiopulmonarygraphy the dynamic functions of both right and left heart and cardiac transit times can sensitively and accurately be investigated ånd valuable information can be obtained about the alterations in pulmonary circulation time with this method.
In this paper the results of radiocardiopulmonarygraphy which was performed at Institute of Radiobiclogy, Ankara Unuiversity Medical School, on 10 normal subjects and 52 cases with various heart and allied diseases are demonstrated and the value of this method in the diagnosis of heart diseases has been emphasized.

Abstract

Radiyokardiyopulmoııergrafi entravenöz olarak bir radyoaktif izleyici verdikten sonra bunun kalbe girişi ve atılışını harici detektörlerle tesbiti esasına dayanan ve kalbin dinamik fonksiyonları hakkında değerli bilgiler veren modern bir radyoizotop teşhis metodudur. Bu metotda radyofarmosötik madde olarak 1311 ile işaretli insan serum albümini (RİSA) kullanılmaktadır ve böylece aynı zamanda total kan volümü tayini de mümkün olmaktadır. Radyokardiopulmonagrafi ile kalb hastalıklarında sağ ve sol kalp fonksiyonları incelenebilir ve kardiyak transit zamanları hassas olarak takip edilebilir. Ayrıca pulmoner sirkülasyon zamanı tayini ile akciğerdeki hemodinamik değişiklikler değerlendirilebilir.
A. Ü. Tıp Fakültesi Radyobiyoloji Enstitüsünde yapılan bu ça[işmada 10 normal ve 52 muhtelif kalp hastalığı olan vak'ada tatbik edilen radyokardiyopulmonergrafiden alman neticeler gösterilmiş ve metodun kalb hastalıkları teşhisindeki değeri belirtilmeğe çalışılmıştır
