Abstract

1. In seven lymphosarcoma cases whose serum proteins were examined electrophoretically, the relationships between electrophoresis findings and the S1 class (stage), histological type, and prognosis were investigated, and the following results were obtained. I. In determining prognosis, the class (stage) of the case is a poor criterion, while the histological type is a relatively good criterion.
2. The relationship between protein electrophoresis findings and prognosis, which was originally established, was expressed as follows: While a significant decrease in the albumin fraction and a corresponding increase in the gamma-globulin fraction indicates a good prognosis, the parallel normal or near-normal presence of these two fractions does not provide guidance in terms of prognosis. 3. It is possible to establish a good correlation between the serum protein electrophoresis findings and the class (stage), with a relatively good correlation between the type and the prognosis. II. While the age distribution of cases is consistent with the literature, a significant shift towards men was observed in the gender distribution, perhaps because women in our country do not have the same access to hospitals as men.

Lenfosarkom Vak'alarında Serum Protein Elektroforezi Bulguları ve Prognoz

Abstract

1. Serum proteinleri elektroforetik olarak incelenmiş olan yedi adet lenfosarkom vak'asında elektroforez bulguları ile vak'anın S1-nıfı (devresi), histolojik tipi ve prognozu arasındaki münasebetler araştırılmış ve şu sonuçlar elde edilmiştir. I. Prognoz tâyininde vak'anın dahil bulunduğu sınıf (devre) zayıf , histolojik tip nisbeten iyi bir kriterdir.
2. Protein elektroforez bulguları ile prognoz arasında orijinal bir bulgu olarak tesbit edilmiş olan münasebet şöyle ifade olunmuştur; Albumin fraksiyonunda bâriz azalmaya karşılık gama - glob. fraksiyonunda mütenasip bir artış iyi prognoza delâlet ettiği halde bu iki fraksiyonun paralel olarak normal veya normal etrafından bulunuşu prognoz bakımından yol gösterici bir mâna taşımaz.
3. Serum protein elektroforez bulguları ile sınıf (devre) arasında, zayıf, tip arasında nisbeten iyi, prognoz arasında oldukça iyi bir münasebet kurmak mümkündür. II. Vak'alardaki yaşa göre dağılış literatürdeki bilgilere uygun bulunduğu halde, cinse göre dağılışta, belki kadınların memleketimizde hastahaneye müracaat imkânlarının erkeklerinki kadar müsâit olmayışı yüzünden, erkekler tarafına pek fazla bir kayma müşahede edilmiştir.
