Abstract

Authors present a case of epithelization of the anterior chamber following cataract extraction with complete iridectomy in a 65-year-old female. A grayish membrane formed on the posterior surface of the cornea, accompanied by iris atrophy and vitreous protrusion. Treatments included curettage, iodine tincture cauterization, corneoscleral suturing, and later synechiotomy. Intraocular pressure was controlled, but epithelization did not fully regress.

Abstract

Ön kamara epitelizasyonu, göz içi cerrahiler ve delici göz yaralanmalarından sonra nadiren görülen bir komplikasyondur. Bu olgu raporunda, 65 yaşında kadın bir hastada yapılan katarakt ameliyatını takiben gelişen epitelizasyon süreci gözlemlenmiştir. Hastada kornea arka yüzeyinde gri tül şeklinde membran oluşumu, iris atrofisi ve vitreus prolapsusu izlenmiştir. Uygulanan tedaviler arasında küretaj, teintüre d’iode ile koterizasyon, kornea-skleral sütürler ve sonrasında sineşiotomi ameliyatı yer almıştır. Glokom kontrol altına alınmış, ancak epitelizasyonun tam gerilemediği gözlenmiştir.
