Abstract
31 cases of systemic hypertension were treated with chlorothiazide, at the dosis of 1, 5 gr. a day. Uric acide determination, made at the 15 th day of the treatment, disclosed that 9 of them (27.7%) developped an increase in the level of uricemia, the mean rate of increase being 2. 21 mg.
It appears, in view of this study, that in patients treated a long time with chlorothiazide, or its derivatives, the uricemia must be checked from time to time, and the treatment must be stopped in cases who have developped significant rise in the level of uricemia.

Abstract
31 sistemik hipertansiyon vakası günde 1,5 gr Chlorothiazide ile tedavi altına alındı. Tedavinin 15. gününde yapılan ürik asid tâyini bunlardan 9 unda (% 27, 7) üresimi seviyesinin yükseldiğini gösterdi. Ortalama yükseliş miktarı 2, 21 mg. idi. Bu inceleme uzun zaman Chlorothiazide veya türevleriyle yapılan tedaviler sırasında üriseminin zaman zaman kontrol edilmesi ve önemli dercede ürisemi artışı gösterenlerde tedavinin kesilmesi lüzumuna işaret etmektedir.
