Takayashu's Disease Involving Abdominal Aorta and Renal Arteries

Abstract

A 23-year-old female patient presented with arterial hypertension and symptoms of headache, limb numbness, and weakness. Physical examination revealed systolic murmurs near the umbilicus and cold extremities. Angiographic evaluation identified stenosis in both renal arteries and abnormalities in the abdominal aorta. These vascular changes were consistent with Takayashu’s arteritis. Clinical findings, along with elevated upper extremity blood pressure and reduced lower limb perfusion, supported the diagnosis. Differential diagnoses including atherosclerosis and syphilitic aortitis were excluded. The presence of intermittent fever and joint pain further supported an autoimmune arteritis consistent with Takayashu’s disease.

Abdominal Aortayı ve Renal Arterleri Tutan Takayashu Hastalığı

Abstract

23 yaşındaki kadın hasta arteriyel hipertansiyon, baş ağrısı, uzuvlarda uyuşma ve halsizlik şikâyetleriyle başvurdu. Fizik muayenede göbek çevresinde sistolik üfürümler ve ekstremitelerde soğukluk saptandı. Anjiografik değerlendirmede her iki renal arterde stenoz ve abdominal aortada damar duvar düzensizlikleri saptandı. Bulgular Takayashu arteritisi ile uyumlu bulundu. Üst ekstremitelerde yüksek tansiyon ve alt ekstremitelerde düşük perfüzyon klinik tanıyı destekledi. Ateroskleroz ve sifilitik aortit gibi ayırıcı tanılar dışlandı. Aralıklı ateş ve eklem ağrıları gibi otoimmün bulgular da Takayashu hastalığını desteklemektedir.
